I would try to fix it. I have a 2001 eddie lawson replica and there is 30k miles on it. Never had to do anything to the motor. Only has a d&d slip on and runs strong still. I knkw people that are passing 80k miles and no problems. The motors are extremely tough and withstand high mileage. I would try to find the source. Theyre extremely fun bikes.
