A friend of mine has just recently bought a Yamaha 550 XZ. The bike has not been driven for some 15 years. After full service it starts and runs but when use the throttle to firm, it chokes itself. The motor will not rev up as expected. A gentle twist on the throttle works fine. The carburetor has been disassembled and cleaned by a work shop. The work shop claims a leakage from old gaskets... but could not tell where and why. Any clues? Any ideas most welcome.
